About the Designer- Penny Arora

There are designers who follow trends, and then there are those who forge emotional legacies through fabric and form. Penny Arora belongs distinctly to the latter. Having first embarked on a path in architecture—a discipline grounded in structure and storytelling—Penny soon felt the pull of a more tactile, intimate medium: fashion. She left behind the blueprints and models to pursue a B.Sc. in Fashion & Apparel Design at the prestigious JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Hauz Khas, graduating in 2015. With a thirst for a deeper intellectual framework, she simultaneously completed a B.A. in English Honors from Delhi University, merging literary introspection with material expression.
But Penny's education extended far beyond academia. Driven by a desire to understand the anatomy of a garment from the inside out, she immersed herself in every facet of the industry—designing, managing production, merchandising, and more. This hands-on approach was not an act of necessity, but of conviction.
Her formative years were shaped under the tutelage of some of India’s most celebrated fashion houses—Rose Room Couture, Ridhima Bhasin, Malini Ramani, and Falguni Shane Peacock, among others. These experiences did more than hone her technique—they instilled in her an uncompromising reverence for detail, finish, and the silent language of clothing. It was amidst these ateliers, surrounded by legacy and experimentation, that Penny began to distill her many influences into a singular design voice: quietly powerful, emotionally articulate, and aesthetically unflinching.
In 2021, Penny Arora launched her eponymous label with a vision beyond fashion—a desire to create garments that resonate emotionally, not just aesthetically. For Penny, design is a conversation—an exploration of nuance, identity, and grace in transition. Each collection refines her commitment to authenticity, craftsmanship, and modern femininity. This is not fashion for spectacle, but for soul.
